gloucester house
on august 19, 2006, doors opened at 6:30pm,  for yet another successful reunion for the gloucester class of 1981.   a welcome surprise included... mr. lavenger crashing the party with meg montagnino!  hhmmm.
everyone said they had a blast.  the sign of a perfect night is that it was too short,  the music may have been too loud for some, and it was "good to see everyone".  click here for rsvp list of classmates

the website
a class website was launched in 1/06, and recieved 1400 hits between january and june.  classmates voted on the theme, the music and choice of paying a cover charge or to have dinner.  80 classmates ordered  a buffet dinner for $45. (scroll to bottom of page for menu).
the food kept coming out all night with no hassle lines.  this was a guaranteed opportunity to chat or catch your song dedication.  to head out to the dance floor without losing your dinner spot in line!  nearly 40 of our classmates chose to skip dinner and pay door cover of $15.   an option that is gaining popularity of about 15% from the 20th.   attendance was lower than the 20th.  however, this a trend for all class reunions this season.  nevertheless, with nearly 2600 hits to the site by 8/19/06, the website kept classmates involved who were unable to attend.  those unable to attend felt as though they were part of the reunion.  appreciating being able to contact us or in emailing and rekindling an old friendship.  upon paying our bills, we earned an unprecendended $2000. in donations,   $500. will go toward keeping the website alive for the next five years.

70's/early 80's theme  (chosen by classmates on vote on this page)
mostly everyone came dressed as they are today, some with a slight retro look.   we're still a mellow group.  charlie's angels had their garb in their vehicles - in case it got wild! soul man, jon pratt, came dressed in black and in search for his blues brotha' "no-show" greg salah.

music
dj tony d was in the house with "the sound system".
tony d is a great mixer, he worked diligently mixing tunes to satisfy all of the class rockers, headbangers, disco king and queens, and punkers too!   he spun us a back to high school, old school style! at one point there was a feeling as if we we're at an o'maley school dance.
we're getting older and a few felt the music was too loud, that had more to do with location of the dj than his volume.   reunion crew asked for dj tony d to be placed by the lannon, out of the way of the talking and smoking sections, but our request was not obliged by the establishment.  we apologize for the inconvenience and will be firm about music placement next time ~ wherever the venue!  a request did come in from officer mcdonald to turn the music up, officer being the operative word!
one place you can set the volume is on your own computer, stay tuned for the monthly song dedication.  donations came in to keep the website alive for the next five years.  for a small donation, you can play your dedication for one month. it will be listed on the first page.   first dedication goes out to david laurie from the reunion crew....

trivia  & prizes

dj tony d spun us back  with the every popular name that tune with a hook.  dy tony d had a slightly-buzzed audience of classmates delving into their memory banks.  not only did a classmate have to name the tv show theme song,  but had to answer a trivia question from the show as well.  not as easy as it appears!  a well-preserved rosalie machaine-lentini amazingly knew every answer.   a fine negotiator, shelly campbell-gossom landed roz' senior prom beer mug (which was not listed as a prize).   michelle pallazola sweet is due roz' reuion t-shirt.  ladies, this was not an auction but lead to new ideas for future events.  there are still a few more prizes to give away via the website.  stay tuned...

50/50 raffle
diane alba-jackson raised $370. for the classmates in need fund.  billie rotchford, who showed up toward the tail end won $200. we were left with $170. to continue on the fund.  this prompted an anonymous classmate to pledge $100. every christmas, for the remainder of his/her life to the fund.   diane has already begun planning something different for the next reunion.

photos  will soon be accepted for any prior reunions or non-yearbook pictures from grade school to graduation (j.peg or .gif)
