upon notification, the class reunion crew will send a condolance card to the family of a deceased classmate. in addition, and in honor of our classmate, the class of 81 will offer a small donation for the youngest members of the family.
Eileen E. Ryan, 44 Oct. 31, 1963 to April 20, 2008. After an extended illness, Eileen went happily surrounded by her family. Eileen had two grown daughters and a grandchild. Her youngest son, Kenneth, is 15 years old. The reunion crew sent a card and $50. to Kenneth, in honor of his mother's childhood friends. We will miss her advocacy work with Project Uplift, Essex Community Organization, Action for Justice League, Riverdale Park Committee and HAWK. Eileen will be remembered for her smile and kind words. Eileen was so proud to have moved back to Gloucester and attend the 25th Reunion. Did you know she was in the Air Force for eight years overseas?
Josephine ciulla-verga died immediately after giving birth to her daughter . her daugher is now a teen attending ghs. at the 20th reunion, diane alba-jackson brought a scrap book around to all of josephine's old friends and had them write their memories. the book was presented to josephine's daugher soon after our reunion. diane and ms. verga were very appreciative to classmates for their kind and generous words which meant so much to ms. verga. it is something she will always treasure!
peter scola won the 50/50 raffle and donated half back. paula mailed off a check for $250. to the family of ,after he passed away in a motorcycle accident in magnolia that year. the thing about pete is that he nearly lossed his wife the previous year to cancer. peter is very greatful that his twins were born healthy and his ending was a fairy tale of miracles all around. there but for the grace of god!
